Hello, I’m Natalie (she/her)
IBCLC- International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant serving the South West Denver area.
My deep love for all things babies, parents, and birth has led me on an inspiring journey of being with all types of people during their childbearing years. Beginning in 2006, I was in hospitals working in labor and delivery, postpartum and newborn care. In 2015 I continued my role of a Registered Nurse in community birth centers. I have been fortunate to be both at the bedside as a nurse and in the classroom as a childbirth educator.
I hope my love of evidence-based education and informed consent translates to you feeling empowered and confident in feeding your child(ren). Other passions include reproductive justice, inclusivity and equity in health care, supporting people who identify as BIPOC and LGBTQ+, hosting feeding groups, and mentoring students and nurses. I strongly believe in my role as a guide in helping your family find the path that makes the most sense for you.
Things that “fill my cup” are my kids, my spouse, our dog, and extended family (blood and chosen). I love being outdoors, both in my garden and in the wilderness on a ski, camping or rafting adventure. I also love sharing good food and having deep conversations, coffee, being silly and hearing stories.
About the Birch Branch
For me, nature serves as a refuge, a sanctuary and it is my favorite place to regroup and recharge. Nature is bountiful, and fresh and can also be brutal and destructive. One thing is for sure, nature is always beautiful and awesome. To me the birch tree represents resilience, flexibility and being one with the cycle of the forest and life. Celts revere the birch tree as a symbol of rebirth, motherhood/nurturing, and protection. Many First Nations believe the birch tree to be very powerful and is the tree of safety and protection.
